How about trying to accurately recreate the view of an extreme close-up
(for instance, of your hand 8 inches in front of your face)? If you
look at a real object that close without using any optical equipment,
you'll see keystoning, so if you wanted to recreate the maximum possible
realism, you'd need to have keystoning.
Not that *I'd* do it, but it might appeal to some of the more extreme
proponents of realism... :-)
