That's a big region, what do you like to shoot? 

At the southern tip of Seneca Lake is Watkins Glen State Park.  The deep
gorge is easily accessible by a well-manicured 1 1/2 mile path (you start
at the mouth of the gorge, at stream level).  You pass 18 waterfalls along
the way.  There's also the racetrack a few miles out of town, if you're
into loud noises and rapidly moving blurs of color.

Waterfalls?  There's Schquaga Falls in the town of Montour Falls,
Buttermilk Falls near Ithaca, Taughannock Falls near Trumansburg (at 215
feet, they're higher than Niagara Falls), Letchworth State Park, and Stony
Brook State Park near Dansville (lots of waterfalls). 

Corning, NY has the Museum of Glass as well as the Steuben Glass Factory.

Wineries all along the hills above the lakes but heaviest along Keuka,
Seneca and Cayuga. Too early for the vinyards to be in full color, but the
drive is still scenic.
Tours through the cellars all year.
 
If you're in Hammondsport at the south end of Keuka Lake you might want to
stop in at the Glenn Curtiss Museum of Aviation.

Chimney Bluffs on Lake Ontario near Sodus Bay for other-worldly land
formations.

Not far from there is the Renaissance Faire in Sterling, NY.  Very colorful
re-creation of English Village.  Runs weekends, all summer long.

Hang-gliders and sail-planes are popular in the area, as well as hot-air
balloons.  Don't know of any special events during that week.
