Keystone View Company.
Ok I guess it is pretty obvious .. I AM QUITE NEW TO THIS ..
It all started last year when my Sister-in-Law sent me a 3d Birthday Card=
from Prague. (Basically a postcard which pops out into a 3d viewer
complete with plastic lenses).
I started out by getting a couple of books out of the Library, sticking t=
wo
disposable cameras together .. and progressed onto the purchase of a slid=
e
bar from the Widescreen Centre here in England which I used with my MJU
Instamatic. Then earlier this year my wife and I went out to Prague to
visit for a couple of weeks and (wouldn't you know it) on the last day of=
the visit I walked into a camera shop that had a secondhand Dept with two=
stereo cameras .. a Meopta stereo 35 with its cutter and a FED Stereo kit=
(camera/projector/glasses etc). I didn't really have much of an idea wha=
t
I was buying but the prices seemed quite good to me (40.00 for Meopta,
180.00 for the FED). I managed to get a few Stereo shots of Prague with
the FED before we left which I hope to put up on a web page if I get time=
=2E =
I think by this time I was well and trully hooked and started looking out=
for stereo items at a local auction close to where I work. This is where=
I
picked up the Keystone Viewer (2.00) I also picked up Model D and Model F=
Viewmasters which both appear to be far superior to the current plastic r=
ed
model I was using (The Model F has adjustable focus and they are both
backlit).
I also aquired another old viewer (a "CameraScope") at the auction that
appears to have been made available through the purchase of "Army Club"
cigarettes made by Cavanders Ltd in London ... no dates but from the stat=
e
of the cards I would guess that it is from the first half of the Century
(does anybody know anything?). The stereo pairs of "Peeps into many lands=
"
that came with it were obviously given away in cigarette packets with the=
option to purchase a viewer for 1/- from an address in Lomdon.
I don't have any views for the Keystone at the moment and would be
interested in aquiring some if anybody has any ideas about outlets.
