Help w/ Kodak 3-d camera.

I would greatly appreciate any help that members might give me in regards
to the following problem:

I recently purchased a Kodak 3-D camera (1954 "Realist"-type) that is
seemingly in excellent condition. I've run about threee rolls through it
and everything seems to work fine (exposure incl.) except for one annoying
problem.

When I get approximately 2/3's through a roll of 36 (28 stereo pairs), the
winder doesn't stop at the next frame when I try to advance the film.
Instead, it winds past about 10 inches of film and then eventually stops.
At that point, I can continue on as usual, getting approx. another 6 or 7
stereo sets. When the film (Reversal) is processed, the section of film
corresponding to the "non-stopping" wind, is clear but with faint traces of
images, suggesting that the shutter (maybe both shutters) stayed open while
I wound the camera until it stopped.

I've inspected the camera, and all of the sprockets are in excellent shape.
The fact that the problem seems to always happen in the same spot on the
roll of film in the camera makes me think it might be a problem relating to
film tension.

Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

J. Dawson
