Crosseye format is _one_ of many possible layouts of a JPS. A correct
JPS also has whats called a Stereoscopic Descriptor embedded in it. The
Descriptor lets DepthCharge know the exact layout of the JPS (for example
it could be Interleaved).
So to elaborate... will what you did work? Yes, but if you put those
images on the web, DepthCharge will give a warning that the Descriptor is
missing. In the case of a missing Descriptor, DepthCharge assumes the
layout of the JPS to be side-by-side (Crosseye).
Its perfectly fine to create a JPS in the above manner, but what you
really should do is embed the Descriptor in your files as well. If
anyone is interested in creating their own JPS files, please send me
an email (siragusa@xxxxxxxx) and i can get you the necessary utilities.
Also, i know i said this before but, if anyone would like the white paper
explaining the Stereoscopic Descriptor (and how it pertains to JPS) please
get in touch with me. The white paper is geared more towards programmers
wishing to implement Descriptors in their applications.
