Mars rover: elevated view

NASA TV has a daily press briefing on the Pathfinder mission (6PM Pacific?),
unfortunately my cable provider doesn't have NASA TV available at that time
of day. However, by channel skipping I occasionally come across interesting
coverage.

With respect to the discussion Friday on the merits of having an
adjustable elevated view from the rover, a video clip (on Jim Lehrer's News
Hour) showed a prototype of a rover for a planned 2001 mission in action
on a test surface on Earth. It was stated that it will have an imager on
a pivoting jointed arm, which can be raised and lowered.

It also discussed the panoramic poster, and the virtual reality model
(it sounded like the spokesperson's name is Dr. Carol Stoker, not Stroker),
and the 180 degree poster (which appeared to be red-green anaglyph).

Of course, the disadvantage of channel skipping is that I missed the
beginning of the news clip.
