|Texas A & M University.  Considering the last one 
|was ETSU (Eastern Texas State University??), it 
|appears as though TAMU has taken over server 
|duties from ETSU.

Not only has TAMU taken over server duties, it's taken over
the whole school! :-)

The merger zorched East Texas State and created
Texas A & M University  - Commerce. Texas had basically
a 3 tiered system of higher education institutions, one
based on the University of Texas (Austin), another on Texas
A&M University (College Station) and a 3rd of unaffiliated
state supported schools. There has been considerable  pressure to 
combine the 3rd system into the other two from the Tx
legislature.

However, other name/domain changes are coming up in
about a month (sigh - no rest for the weary).
