One of the back-issues of Stereo World that I picked up at NSA '97 (along
with some of the NSA viewmaster reels) was one with an article 
about stereo x-ray's in a dental application (to show my dentist wife).

It said that a (total) tilt/rotation of about 5 degrees worked best.  About
half of what you used.

I loved the shell x-rays. "Kewl".   :-)
