As I mentioned several months ago, while fresh in-date Kodachrome might
possibly exhibit a greenish cast, older and out-of-date film seems to
be usually fine, and if my experience is typical you should be able to
use out-of-date film with no loss of quality. I'm currently shooting
an out-of-date emulsion of Kodachrome 25 Professional, and it
appears quite neutral. Just have the film processed promptly; latent
images will shift toward magenta if months pass before development.

I remember years ago a friend shot up a roll of K25 that was about 8
years out of date and stored under extremely unfavorable conditions on
winter snow scenes. I fully expected the results to be horrible, and
was surprised that the slides looked great!

I was stunned to see a two page advertisement for Kodachrome in a recent
issue of "Popular Photography"! I can't remember how long it's been since
Kodak spent a nickel on advertising for Kodachrome. What would Ford's
auto market share be if they never advertised their products, while their
competitors advertise and promote their products constantly?! I'm hoping
that this advertising and the eventual appearance of more labs to process
Kodachrome using simpler technology will bode well for the continued
availability of these films.
