large silver screens

It *would* be nice if there were an *affordable* large silver screen
available. Stewart Filmscreen in Torrance CA custom produces flat silver
screens of a high quality at high cost (e.g. an 11' x 14' screen
w/demountable frame runs about $3500). Since Da-Lite's older ribbed
surface is completely satisfactory at a larger size, I'm wondering whether
one could still order a larger sized silver, say 8' x 8'. Also, what
happened to their flat silver surface? Perhaps with some coaxing, they
could be convinced to produce large *flat* silvers on custom order.

The other possibility, of course, is to have several Stewart silvers
available for *rental* on a regional basis. The problem, of course, is
transporting the screen, which rolls up into a tube the length of its
shorter dimension. Da-Lite does make a collapsible aluminum frame (with
snap screen sonnections) that fits into a carrying case.
