Fair/unfair pricing (was: Re: Speaking of silver screens...)

I said:
I picked up a 50" x 50" Da-Lite Silver Pacer ...for $2!! ...

Allan Woods responds:
Wouldn't a FAIR price be, oh, say about $2.50?
___
I suppose Allan is right. My question should have been:
What is the value of a good condition used Silver Pacer
today?
Then, I could decide if I want to be unfair by charging that
price for it (if I sell it), considering I got if for a measley $2.
Or, I could do the FAIR thing according to Allan and sell
it for $2.50. Or, I could take into account the time I spent
looking through the paper for garage sales, the time
scouting around through piles and piles of junk, gas used
getting around, the value of my price negotiation skills, and
the loss of interest from my bank account being $2 less for
the period of time between buying it, and selling it, and
charge a price somewhere between the two... ;) I think the
latter sounds most appropriate...

BTW, someone should talk about FAIR pricing to all of those
camera stores that are selling stereo cameras with a 100%+
markup on them. Being a beginner, I almost got taken by
these people, not knowing fair prices/values. Luckily, I am
on the 'net and found this list. Others may not be so fortunate...
