Not quite the first.  There is another online auction that generally
has a bunch of stereos that has been going on for some time.  Its at
www.antiquephoto.com.  It is nowhere near as big
or as interesting as what John does, and most of the items in the auction
are non stereo.  It is an e-mail only auction.  The nice thing about the
antiquephoto auctions is that Bruce, the auctioneer, scans each of the
views, so you can get a rough look at each view.  

A caveat: Bruce is not the most reputable auctioneer that
I've dealt with.  In his last auction, he decided on auction day to
extend the deadline 1 month when he was unsatisfied with the number of
bids.  Other than that, I've been satisfied with what I've bought from
him.  Because I got screwed in the last auction, though, I don't know if
I'll bid there again.

I hope so too.  I accidently got cut off of John's mailing list when I
moved & forgot to tell him about that.  Thanks to his on line catalogs, I
was still able to get in on the VM auction ending tommorrow!

Of course, some view auctioneers (who shall go nameless here) still need
to be convinced to get e-mail accounts, much less post their catalogs.
