I would think that would minimize the effect of the extra sound channel b=

simply blending it in with the left and right channels. They are already
working to create the illusion of a "curtain of sound" IN FRONT OF the
audience. By placing, and utilizing, the extra channel BEHIND the audienc=
e,
it seems to me you would be expanding the illusion of depth and suggestin=
g
that the world doesn't exist merely through that window in front of us, b=
ut
all around us.
