I have had this same problem. There are (at least) 2 different causes
of
slippage in the TDC Colorist I and II. The easiest to fix is just loose
set
screws on the advance spool. This, however, does not usually cause
overlap,
because the film is measured by the sprocket, and is just pulled by the
advance knob and spool. Inside, there is a shaft with a one-way clutch
that can slip. It's been several years since I fixed mine, so I can't
remember
the details.
In general Fujichrome is harder to pull out of the cassette than
Kodachrome.
The spool slipping problem was found when switching rolls from K to F.
I find
that it helps to loosen the supply spool with the rewind knob
occasionally when
winding Fujichrome in a Colorist.
