cardboard cutouts

My theory is that the novice is not used to seeing such a "lifelike" photo
without life- i.e. still/motionless.  Don't remember hearing these comments
at a 3D film... I wonder if the Realist viewer showed motion (hopefully
soon with new digital displays!) would we hear the same comments?
