Anaglyph Movie Experience

"Creature..." and "It Came From..." were red/green 16mm prints with RED
ON THE RIGHT. _Deep Vision_ glasses were provided.

!ROR is so much superior! !I'll never consider anaglyph with ROL again!
!I'm going to view ALL anaglyphs w/ROR, even if they're made for ROL!
(note:comments between !s are laced w/sarcasm... read at own risk... oops...
too late.)

But seriously, though the glasses provided had a "blue" lens more toward
cyan than blue, I used my own red/green. The provided glasses "red" also was
so dense that it provided Pulfric effect in some scenes!

Overall, the prints were pretty good, only ghosting badly in
high-contrast scenes.
"It Came From..." was older, judging from projector scratches, and
sometimes a scene would seem to _ghost_ out of 3D for no apparent reason.
Almost like the colors had been timed incorrectly for that scene.
"Creature..." had far less problems with the 3D.

The screen was about 14 feet wide so a lot of the images were in front
of the screen-masked "window." I think I was sitting too close in the small
theater since the depth often seemed compressed... maybe the films were shot
with a lot of reduced lens separation.

These are "B" movies... certainly candidates for "Mystery Science
Theater" spoofing... they probably have been featured there. Obviously 3D
won't overcome poor plot, script, acting, etc.

The attendance was quite good, but the college crowd was, well...
puerile, disrespectful to the 3D and heavily pierced. Maybe I could have
gotten them to settle down if I'd shown them my ampalang! :=)

I did not get a headache.
