I have found an interesting document, published by Realist in the late
fifties. The title is: "The Importance of Realist Stereo Photography in
Selling Consumer and Industrial Products and Services".

The purpose of this 8-page (full-size) document is to promote the use of
stereo photography for scientific/ industrial applications and also as a
sales/marketing tool. It is clearly an attempt by Realist to enter new
markets at a point when sales of Realist products to consumers were
decreasing.

In addition to highlighting the advantages of stereoscopic photography in
science/industry and marketing, a number of case histories are presented,
many of which are reprints of articles that appear in "Industrial
Photography" in 1956 and 1957. Examples of case histories include:

- Use of stereo slides to record erosion in boiler furnaces as part of a
maintenance program by Detroit Edison Co.
- Use of stereo and electronic flash to record and study human movements
at the Institute of Applied Experimental Psychology at Tufts University.
- Use of stereo slides documenting construction and maintenance in
installations by Florida Power and Light to train engineers and draftsmen.
- Use of color stereo slides of houses as a sales/marketing tool by a
  Florida real estate company.

The last page lists the Realist products (cameras, viewers, etc.) with
pictures and prices.

We have made copies of this interesting document and we are offering it for
sale at slightly above cost. ALL the money goes to support the Cleveland
Stereo Photographic Society. Check sell-3d for details.
