Cleveland Meeting Part 3

As a key witness to the mock slide competition, let me clear up a few
misunderstandings. Sure slides were mocked and down right ridiculed, but
Dr. T was a real sport about it. Ok, now the competition begins by
submitting 3 slides, all entries must be labled as to the orientation,
titled with photographers name etc. To my dismay my entries were not
accepted. Pencil scribblings on albion mounts and a folded corner to
represent "lower left" was apparently not good enough for this " make
the rules up as you go" group format. Well, I'll watch, I'll listen,
I'll learn. Dr. T graciously accepted a judging role (1of3) and I seemed
to agree with just about everything he said, the Indians always were a
good team. Members revealed some unique photographic styles and a stong
command of flash photography....like how to transform an ant into a
tarantula or how to put hair on a bald head using an ordinary flash
against an ordinary wall. The highlight of the judging came at the time
Dr. T, upon observing one particular pair, asked the question: Was this
taken with Ecktachrome 100 in a kodak stereo camera exposed 1/100sec at
f8 using fill flash at around 3:30 in the afternoon? "3:00"
someone yelled out. Suddenly it was ok that my slides were not
projected.....I can recall my knees knocking in search of a restroom at
the time I shot some nice images. I would hate to have Dr.T reveal that
fact to the group. Well, the meeting concluded and to tell you the truth
it was awesome!! I did learn alot! I thanked Dr.T and extended my hand
while remarking " I wonder how long it will take me to get home?"
Awaiting a handful of albion mounts........no such luck this time but a
sincere handshake followed. Cleveland's group is a great group and I
would encourage anyone to attend.
