3Discover Cassette Proglems

I purchased a 3Discover and one cassette approx. two weeks ago.  I
purchased a second cassette today and find that it does not operate
properly in the viewer. The original cassette works perfectly. When the
viewer buttons are pushed the cassette will advance only 1/2 way resulting
in the left and right eyes viewing different images.  The cassette can
usually be jockeyed back and forth, using the forward and rewind buttons until it finds
its proper location to view the picture.  I also find that sometimes 
you have to take the cassette off of the viewer and advance the
film slightly using a pen on the film slot to bring it to the
proper position.  I've read of some other people having problems with the
system.

I purchased the system out of interest for 3D photographs.  The new
cassette may be defective.  If the system has a history of defective
cassettes I don't think I'll spend any more money on them.  Has anyone 
else had similar problems with this system??
