How is a $2000 computer, plus say $100 glasses, cheaper than a $100
conventional viewer ?
We aleady agree that viewing from a computer screen has far less resolution
than a typical stereo slide from a conventional stereo camera. Also there
will always be people who will prefer other mediums than just dots on a screen.
Slides or prints from a digital image are again lacking in resolution, plus
would require an even bigger expense and more time.

Exactly how will money be made? Images on webpages are free to all, one of
the glories of the internet. My concern is not generating income, but in the
quality of the images I produce. Any loss of detail that is perceptible to
the viewer's eye will hinder the illusion of reality in my opinion. I do
agree that the future of stereo photography will be benifitting from the
computer as a medium, but to claim that it is the only future for it is
stretching it all little far.
The other problem with virtually ANY electronic investment is the danger of
obsolescence. Do you think the computer system, video camera and accessories
bought today will still be useable and repairable 40 years from now?
I know I sound negative here, but your original post sounded too close to a
sales pitch, one I have heard at least a dozen times before regarding new 3d
computer technology. I do want your company and ideas to succeed, but they
have to be realistic.

No true. I bought one of these systems because I was shown the capabilties
of it for viewing stereo images. I have no interest at all in games, so this
was my sole reason for purchasing it. It's probably true though that the
general consumer would buy it for the exact opposite reason.

This I look forward to. Yes, it would be fantastic if I could have a library
of 3d Cds. It's been promised for several years, yet I've yet to see a
single one. Especially the fact that a single CD can store enough info to
actually rival a good conventional stereo pair. It's just a question of when
the cost of this high quality image will compete with a 32 cent stereo slide.
