TDC vs Triad

I come down square in the camp that believes the Compco Triad is a better
projector than the TDC. I agree with Sam's reasoning and add another:

The carrier system (feeding from both sides and sliding the carrier over)
is VERY accepting of any and all styles of slide mounts. The TDC's (push
the old one out of the way) looks all well and good until you try to
project a slide mounted in something other than glass. The TDC's springs
will squash cardboard mounts, they'll overlap when you try to switch
slides etc etc. I've used both extensively and found myself swearing at
the TDC constantly (regardless of what mounts were in the thing, the
slide swapping mechanism screwed up frequently enough to be an
annoyance.).

Does the Triad's carrier take getting used to? Not any more than any
other projector. They ALL have their quirks that you must adjust your
self to.

The primary reason the TDC is more popular is that... the TDC is more
popular. More people have heard of it so that's what they buy. Doesn't
make it the best.
