In photo-3d 2287 Dr. T. says:

Actually at NSA '97 I overheard a conversation where Bob Brackett
stated he is thinking of making another run. Could this be true or
was I just dreaming?
>You don't want to put the price of the RBT in the discussion

Price is a definite factor when choosing anything, but it should not
be a factor when discussing the features and quality. If you were
comparing and RBT camera and a 3.5 Realist camera the comparison
should be the same whether the RBT is $3000.00 and the Realist is
$100.00 or the RBT was $100.00 and the Realist was $3000.00. As with
anything there is a point of diminishing return. A good example is
high end aural stereo equipment. Is it really worth an extra $10,000
to get an all but imperceptible difference in musical quality? You
can't argue that the latter isn't better, but is it worth it?
Obviously to some people it is (they sell the equipment).
I also didn't realize that the 4" lenses for the TDC could be had for
$100.00. I have yet to see any offered on sell-3d, or at NSA '97 (I
was looking). I have only heard rumors of $500.00.
Thanks for the time,
