Thanks Dr. T and good luck using this hyper-stereo method!

There is a further refinement.

When a greater than 12 foot separation (the length of my longest cord)
is desired, I utilize the surprisingly affordable Ricoh
infrared plug in remote control triggers.

Picture the scene:

I'm standing on a suitable mountaintop with the glorious scene before
me. The Ricohs are atop their respective tripods, say 60 feet apart.
I've adjusted them several times and I'm satisfied that the view in each
is the same. I stand between them with the push button trigger poised
and ready. When the time comes I am treated to the sterephonic sound of
the shutters firing in glorious automated synchronicity! This is
followed by the whir of the winding motors as the units prepare for the
next exposure with no help from me. The sensation is thrilling. The
wind was blowing, the leaves were rustling, the clouds were sailing by,
a bird flew through the scene, I DON'T CARE! They are all frozen in
time at the same moment.

I think to myself, " how many people in the world took a picture like
THAT today?"
