Actually, I belong to a group of people who think that adjusting the
projector for every singly slide is a good way to *maximize* headaches
and eyestrain...
If the slide is just a little bit misadjusted, I believe that trying to
adjust it will cause more harm than good.
Assuming that the projector feeds the slides square (and the TDC does
this) and that people take a reasonable care when mounting slides (most
people do) then there is no need for vertical adjustment, only
focusing (due to the varying thickness of the mounts used). The
TDC projectionist can easily adjust focusing... but a helper with good
eye sight, sitting closer to the screen and using a long cable, can be
of some help.
Also, I oppose to horizontal spacing adjustment during projection to
minimize ghosting... This offers nothing and it is an excellent way to
induce headache and reduce the impact of the projected image...
The "no adjustments (except for focusing) during projection" policy is
followed in the Detroit club with excellent results.
