In regards to Adam Beckerman's stereo club report - Adam , if
you don't call them grandfathers, perhaps they won't call you
"Sonny"
George, speak for yourself as far as older guys not enjoying fast cars.
beautiful women and some of the other aspects of being a senior citizen.
Economics plays a big part here however. I bought and raced a 1962 Alfa
Romeo Sprint Special, in 1963. I paid $2200.00 for the car. This same
model car is now selling for $20,000.00 (basket case, not running, in
need of complete restoration) or $50.000.00 completely restored, ready
for
cross country cruising. I could afford $2200 for a toy in 1963, but I
cant
afford $50,000 for a toy nowdays. But that doesn't mean I am not
interested in
that type vehicle and the type people that are attracted to it.
Making stereographs is a great deal of fun, but I would rate it several
notches
behind racing cars or flying helicopters. The main advantage is that it
is
considerably cheaper than the other two activities and possibly a bit
safer..
Age is an attitude!! One of my golfing buddies is 90. He just married
his
third wife who is a "young" 65. Sometime told him that these
May-December
marriages can be hard on your health. Al replied "If she dies, she dies"
We need all the different ages of folks to round out this activity and
the more
people who take the trouble to "spread the word" the better it will be
for all of
us.
