Standardization of judging media

As Greg Wageman stated, audio mixes may vary according to the target
playback medium
( CD, TV ,Radio etc.) However, I mix audio by striking a compromise
between several medium
by monitoring my mixes through TV, home stereo, car stereo, boom boxes
etc. I find this to be satisfactory most of the time. Why not try this
approach with stereo images? Select your best images by viewing through
a Brum, a Realist red button, projection on axis and off axis from the
screen etc. The images that are
quality consistant will probably be best represented using different
viewing equipment.
However, why hasn't standard equipment been
selected for judging purposes? I believe standardization of judging
criteria,especially
equipment, would play an important role in the enthusiasm of
participants to submit images for
judging. What are the groups thoughts on this?
