RBT re-mounting

I frequently pull apart RBT glass mounts to scan the film. For me
the challenge is to put the film back in precisely the same 
precision window placement that I achieved in the first mounting. 
The trick I use is to scratch the top of the film (at perforations) 
and the black RBT mount with a sharp pin. This leaves an alignment mark 
on both. When I remount I just match the scratch marks and the slide is 
again perfectly mounted in seconds.
