Clear some things up....

Let me clear some things up here... (the url is =
http://users.apexinc.com/~adam/noca/index.html)
1. When I first posted the images, they were L-R-R. This was pointed =
out to me and I quickly fixed it so that they are now L-R-L. I could =
have sworn that I did preview the right pair to check that they were in =
fact pseudo, meaning anyone viewing cross-eyed was seeing ortho. But, I =
must not have done this properly or was mistaken at what I saw.
2. The reason I said I thought if anything, they were R-L-R is because =
of how I created the composite in Photoshop. I took the left image, =
resized the canvas to fit three views in. Copied that left image and =
put it in the far right, then copied the right image and pasted it into =
the middle (in between the two left views). If I had the images =
backwards, it WOULD have been R-L-R.
3. Looking closer at the images, as Gabriel points out, the left image =
is the one with more information on the left side, and vice versa for =
the right. I understand this. I also understand that, as was posted =
one time, Realist prints/slides have a notch in the lower right corner =
of the left image, thereby identifying it as such. When I first =
received my prints, I used this to identify which was which. This =
looked correct in my stereoscope as well (no pseudo images). However, =
during scanning I was SURE to scan the prints giving them the proper =
name suffix (l for left and r for right). Why then (maybe Gabriel the =
3d Detective can help here) when I look at my lrl images does it seem =
that I have all of them backwards, and that they are in fact R-L-R now?? =
Many of you may remember the confusion I had early on with my house in =
3D. This is a bit different, but what I want to know is this:
If I view the images properly in the sterescope and they are ortho, why =
is it that when I scan them (carefully ensuring left is left and right =
is right), the images are somehow reversed?
In fact, I am now looking at the original Olmstead Point image through =
the stereoscope and it is definitely ortho. When comparing the =
individual images with those on the web site, the right is definitely =
right and the left is definitely left, and this also confirms the fact =
that I prefer wall-eyed to cross-eyed viewing (since I see ortho in the =
left pair and pseudo in the right pair). Oh, and the negatives have NOT =
been reversed either....everything is how I remember it.
HELP!! Adam's stereo mystery #2 is now unfolding....
4. I can see the pink streak now, and may get around to trying to clean =
it up.
5. Thanks Larry for the suggestion about scanning the deer shot so the =
deer fills most of the frame. I think I'll do that as soon as I get a =
chance.
Thanks for any help!
Adam
