It might help just a little bit, but probably not to any significant
degree. Some people tend to punch the shutter button when they take a
photo, instead of gently squeezing it - added weight might help them
(probably several pounds would be better).
Weight stabilization is probably more useful for holding a point of aim -
competition target shooters use extremely heavy rifle barrels. So weight
might help with hendheld telephoto shots.
