Could be!

Maybe the images are an afterthought - depends on the site designer! If
I was setting up my website, and thought that I could convey information
without picture, and I didn't have the images in any case, should I let
the lack of images stop me putting up the site? What if I only have mono
pics? My view is that the information could still be valuable. 3-D
images need not be the only reason for putting a site on the CD.

And I understand from P3D that the archives can be included.

But I've been on P3D for many years - and I'm still learning! And what
was that you inferred about the need for pictures? No JPGs or JPSs on
P3D!

Double edged sword, there! However, one wonders how long the CD format
will last. Won't we all be on mini-disk or some other pressable storage
medium rather sooner than we'd like? I doubt that the CD will be widely
used for years. It'll be updated and re-issued, I hope :-)

Comes back to whether there is information in other than pictorial form.
I think there is. YOU think there is - or you would not have suggested
including the P3D archives. And there's no reason why a browser could
not be obtained from any number of magazine cover CDs...

It wouldn't. But you're suggesting that we jettison all the text-based
information scattered around the internet!!!

The image-only disk is an extension, NOT a substitute for the originally
suggested collection of WWW sites, presented exactly as you would see
them by browsing the net, but without the Internet and phone charges -
both of which happen to be quite costly in the UK.

Does that clarify my point of view?
