FIRST - There will be links with descriptions of content. You will be
able to use the FIND features of your browsers to search that page full
of descriptions for specific keywords.
SECOND - I am at the point where I have NO DOUBT this thing is going to
happen. I got permission today from another major (IMHO) web site full
of antique stereo card images to use their content in the CD. During the
next week, I will be dedicating a large amount of time to contacting
sites to begin acquiring permission to include them. After that, I will
begin to some of the HTML frame, and come the end of October actually
begin to collect the rest of the data that I do not already have. (This
gives those of you who want to make site updates about 3 to 4 weeks to
do it.) The CD will come soon after that.
Please consider this a "last call" of sorts for anyone who would like to
sign up for a copy of the CD. Anyone else interested in being a part of
this? For those who are, it looks like the price will be $30 unless you
allow your 3D site to be included, which will make the price $25.
One last bit of business: Because I routinely purchase 3D things for
people, (many on this list have had me do this for you at one time or
another) I am used to being out some personal money for a measure of
time until everyone pays me back. In the case of this CD we are just
talking about too much money... Before I go and buy a large quantity of
blank CD's I would like more than an e-mail commitment from those of you
interested. Would each of you be willing to send in a $10 deposit
towards the cost of your disc? With that, I can be sure I won't end up
with 50 or so copies of the disc in a box in my closet, and a hurting
wallet!! =)
