SCSC September meeting

I am a couple of weeks late, but I did want to pass on
the details of the September Stereo Club of Southern
California meeting (at least before the October annual
SCSC Club Auction in two weeks).

On Thursday, September 18, 1997,
SCSC held the first competition of
the new Club Year. We had a
great turn out.I even entered my
first slides into a club competition.

We had a moment of
silence while we watched some
slides sent to David Starkman from
SCSC club member in London,
David Burder, of the flowers piled
up by the mourners of Princess
Diana. Thank you David (and
David) for sharing these with us.

We had another unbilled slide
show, anagylph Mars slides. The
slides looked great blown up to the
size of the club screen (a lot better
than on my computer monitor).
You can order your own set of

The cost is only $9.95, they accept
all major credit cards and checks.

Club member, Mark Kernes
brought some RBT handouts and
some free plastic stereo mount
samples from Jon Golden. Mark
suggested the club should order
as a group to receive the discount.
Mark how are you coming on the
SCSC order?

Then we had the slide program by
View-Master photographer (and
SCSC member) Charley Van Pelt.
These all were fabulous slides of
famous places. They were all
crystal clear, with great depth.
There were several, that I just
wanted to walk up to and climb
into. When you consider that these
were his rejects, I guess that
explains why he is the ViewMaster
photographer. Charley has now
gone to visit Texas and Florida to
do some new Sea World reels.
Charley, let us know when they are
ready!

Since we have been posting meeting reminders
on P3D, SCSC started (what we believe is
another first) our own SCSC email reminder list.
So with the September meeting we
sent out our first email meeting reminder. It was
brief and also included the official announcement
of the World's First On-Line SIRTS Generator.
