Re: Digital Stereo

One approach to digital stereo is to offer a digital back to be attached to
an existing camera body. Having no familiarity with digital cameras, I am
not aware of the obstacles to this approach. (So let me ignoratly charge
ahead....)
Professional cameras often accept an optional back that can be loaded with
Polaroid instant film. The main back is preloaded with roll or sheet film,
so that changing is quick and simple. The pro can take a test shot on
polaroid, making adjustments, etc. until everything is right for the "final"
photograph. The camera back with the desired print film is attached and the
shot is made.
So why could not an interchangeable camera back be fitted with a digital
system? Why not construct a digital back that would fit the Realist, or at
least a stereo viewcamera?
If digital cannot be fitted to old cameras, I would be happy to relieve
anyone of their sadly out-dated Hasselblads, Leicas, Nikons, etc. ;-)
