Re: Stephen Kearney wants to know for what kind of mounts his recently
purchased Realist mounting kit was designed?  The cutter, sorting box,
and tweezers of course can be used for any type of mounts.  The "heat
unit (for lack of better term)," and "weighted metal piece" are used
for sealing cardboard heat seal mounts such as those sold by Reel-3D.
(Note that Spicer cardboard mounts are tape-shut mounts, not heat-seal
mounts.)

If Stephen's question is to be interpreted precisely, it becomes a
historical question, whereas the above response treats it as a
request for practical assistance.  I will defer to the old-timers
and/or historians on the list for the historical aspect, as I do
not know precisely what cardboard mounts were available when the
kit was designed.
