Stereoscopic Panoramas

There's been a bit of info/speculation about making 3-d panoramas, and
(whilst I haven't used a computer in the process) here is my method: I
just use a twin rig and take as many frames as I need for the angle of
view required. I use relatively LONG focal length lenses and a
reasonable amount of overlap. This is to minimise distortions that show
up on the joins.

Then I join the prints together in long strips and view them
over-and-under with a ViewMagic. Works well, and you can view from a
distance to see more width, but smaller image or go in closer to see
only part of the panoramas.

For the ultimate 360 degree panorama, of course, you mount the strips on
the inside of a suitably sized cyolinder which is suspended over the
head of the viewer!!!
