Well, I don't touch hardware with proprietary operating systems be they
Apple or DEC.  But that's an aside:-)

Nevertheless, it could be doable if:

edge distortion is much less than one pixel, and

the camera is correctly and accurately rotated on a precision levelled
platform.

Otherwise you are about to learn a whole lot about distortion corrections
etc. that you never wanted to know.  :-)

However if I had such a camera, I would give it a shot.  At least the end
result using a crude stich and paste would be relatively painless and
quick.  Who knows, it might be good enough for many purposes.

My experience with other cameras suggests that you not hold your breath.
