An idea I have toyed with is to use a tile cutter. The ones you get in =
DIY stores which have a firm base and two bars which the cutter slides =
up and down on. Here in the UK they cost well under =A310 and even have =
a handle to slide the mechanisim backwards and forwards. All that is a =
really required is to drill a hole on the piece that slides on the double=
bar and insert a screw into the tripod hole in the base of the camera. =
A scale coud also be incorperated possibly a metal ruler, piece of measu=
ring tape or even scribing marks on the bars themselves.
