Hi Steve,
	I made a slide bar out of a drawer slide, the type with two metal
tracks riding on little ball bearings.  They cost about $5 at the local
hardwood store, it slides really smoothly.  I attached to strips of wood
to the top and bottom so that I could mount my camera and the whole rig
to a tripod.
