I understand... My answer is that it does not really matter because the
tab is fairly thin.

One reason I use a glove is that I don't have any fingernails left! That's
why I also use tweezers.
I think the bottom line is to insert the chips by flexing the mount and
don't try to open the channels first. Works better at the end and each one
can develop their own system.
