Making a mounting bracket for my twinned cameras...

I want to make a new mounting bracket for my twinned nikon lite touches,
but was wondering if anyone has attempted anything other that wood, yet
fairly easy? I thought I remember someone talking about fun clay (or
perhaps fimo) as the material? I don't know much about either (I just saw
them at the crafts store today). Has anyone done this? Is the stuff fairly
sturdy (at least as sturdy as the cameras I guess?) How does this stuff
hold up to epoxy (to cover the channel for the wires I would make)?

The reason I'm making(or want to make) a new mount for my cameras is that
I did a pretty bad job on the last one. I don't have a drill press or
decent wood working skills for that matter. I messed up one of the
contacts (wristwatch strap pin was mangled and finally fell out). I want
to get this thing back together before next friday since I'm going to
florida for the first time and want to take pictures. I figured maybe
that fun clay or fimo would be the way to go? Anyway, I hope to see either
the 3d movie at universal or the one at MGM/Disney. I will be at Epcot, so
I may see some stuff there too.. I want to take some nice pictures of the
everglades and Key West, though.

BTW, does anyone know the temp and humidity this time of year down there?

Thanks,

chuck
