The same thing has been said for one of the Garmin GPS units - you'll
get AA batteries stuck in the compartment. The culprit seems to
be the slightly increased diameter due to the "self test" liquid crystal
charge indicator stuck on the side. I can't recall on the realist flash
about the battery compartment materials - it is reported that it's possible
with some AA's that you can peel off the plastic wrap around the battery.
Of course, if the flash compartment is made of metal, you'd have to be
careful to ascertain if that would produce a short or not...
