P3D Widening RBT mounts???

Has anyone tried to file open and widen RBT mounts?

Why would you want to do this?  Here are some ideas:  

1. Get full height 4p mounts (by filing the top and bottom of a half-frame
Nimslo style mount).

2. Get "medium" and "close-up" mounts by filing 4p mounts.

3. Get 6p mounts that might be useful in mounting 7p close-up pictures.

RBT mounts are made of plastic which should not be very hard to file open.
