P3D My 2 cents on the museum thing...

I recently posted a page
(http://www.dddesign.com/3dbydan/apec/apecii/default.htm) on my web site
with a series of (admittedly less than perfect quality, but certainly
viewable) images of stereo views exchanged in the 1970's by members of
the last APEC group. There are fun views in there, including one of Paul
Wing and some of his stereoscopes, William Culp Darrah in his home, etc,
etc, etc... Had I not been able to spend time looking through a donated
set of the APPEC II views at the NSA library/museum, these views and the
other information I gathered would not be readily available to share.

For this very reason, starting with the 4th exchange of stereo views
from APEC III, we will be each including a view that will be sent
directly to the NSA library/museum. We want to make a set easily
available to future historians, and lovers of 3D... (Did you know that
Bob Zeller, author of the new book "Civil War in Deoth" visited the
library to do research and was thrilled at the openess and willingness
to share he found there?) That library is well on it's way to being a
serious museum in and of itself. I hope to personally help it grow
extensively in the future. We could all donate a bit here and there (and
get write off's if that matters to you) and help to build up one of the
world's largest, and potentially most valuable 3D collections.

(BTW, I believe that the majority of the information available at the
NSA library will make it to the web, or whatever replaces it allowing
for a much wider distribution base for the information and pictures
contained there. I do not know when, but it is being thought about...)
