P3D 3-D add-on for Video Camcorders

Nu-View has announced a 3-D adaptor for existing 2-D Video cameras

Nu-ViewÆ claims it is compatible with virtually all camcorders, VCR's
and television sets in all standards presently available. Using a
patent-pending process called Stereo-OptixTM with your virtual reality
headset or LCS 3-D glasses, any standard television set will become
(in their words) "a window to new, multi-dimensional worlds." (Nothing
like a good sales pitch!) ...Now back to the ad: "Imagine recording
and viewing your child's first steps, vacations and all of nature's
glorious sights in photo realistic 3-D. View your 3-D video recordings
on any stereoscopic head mounted display system or with any video
shutter glasses on both your television or VGA monitor. The Nu-View Æ
adapter will be available for approximately $375.00 through catalogs,
Internet and your local electronics retailer."

This will be an interesting company to follow up on. Hopefully they
will meet their claims and deliver a superior product. $375 would be a
steal when compared to the cost of a two videocamera rigged for 3-D
video. Time will tell.
