I've been thinking of having twins lately, and I just had what's
probably a really stupid idea, but I haven't completly convinced
myself yet.

One problem with twin rigs is that when 35mm cameras are positioned
side by side, the width of the camer body makes it impossible to get
the lenses close enough for "normal" stereo. There's always a slight
hyper effect.

One partial work-around is to "overlap" the bodies, kind of like this:

	+--+
	| |
     +--+ +--+
     | |+--+
     +--------+| |
	    +--+ +--+
	    | |
	    +--------+

The problem here, of course, is that one lens is now further back than
the other. So, here's my stupid idea ... is it possible to put
different focal length lenses on the cameras to give them,
effectively, the same field of view? For example, could one put a
35mm lens on the rear camera, and a 28mm on the foreward one? Or 35
and 50?

I realize that having different focal lengths would effect the image
in other ways (apparent depth, etc.), though I think the difference
would be negligible in this case. It would probably also affect
exposure, etc.

Thanks,

-pd
