P3D Re: More 3D prints

After having said that I will "mount" most of my 3D prints
in photo albums to view with a View-Magic (and also Free-
Viewer) I recently joined APEC and submitted my first
pictures as standard 3.5 by 7 inch side by side stereo
prints. In the group, over-under 3D prints are also accepted
but for a few reasons I went with the traditional view.

One is because I'm still (and most people, I guess are) attached
to the traditional way of a by-gone era of 3D viewing. Don't know
why though. Another reason was because (I assume) most people
in the APEC group would have the traditional type of viewer
rather than View-Magics.

Anyways, while assembling the packet to send to the Greg Kane,
I had to make some tough choices. In the past when assembling
3D stereo-cards I was torn between following the traditional
method of slightly less than 3 inch widths for each of the 3D
pairs or using the full 3.5 inches for the pair on the 7 inch
wide card. Now I know the theory behind all this stuff and all,
with the eye spacing but for 3D enthusiasts, 3.5 and even 4 inch
infinity spacing I think would be quite accomodating, given the
appropriate viewer. Now I haven't yet seen any of the other APEC
member's images (other than on the net) but wonder what width
most follow, practically speaking?

Another matter, which I haven't come across, and have always been
puzzled with is in taking close-ups and having a scene with alot
of depth. In SOME instances, I find cropping the image so that
the stereo window edges are correct, I have to cut the width
of one image larger than the other. This ends up with one image
having a width of 3 inches and the other 1/4 inch less for example.
Now all the images I've seen have equal width, prints or slides. So
is this ever done or am I seeing things incorrectly?
