I checked out this website on a company who created a 3D converter for
televisions:
http://www.hkideatech.com/stereo.htm
Unfortunately, there are contradictions and pitfalls with this system.
in the FAQ's:

#16)
"Question: What are the entertainment programs I can enjoy by buying
the IT-328 3DTV Magician?"
"Answer: You will have the largest library of entertainment programs
ever developed in the history of mankind, which includes ALL the film
titles, whether B/W or color; ALL TV programs of PAL, NTSC and SECAM;
ALL documentary films in the world; ALL computer games played with a TV
card; ALL 3D graphics games for TV; ALL home video games for Nintendo
N64, Sony
Playstation, Sega Saturn and those for all their preceding models; ALL
3D film titles so far produced and all TV programs broadcast everyday
through TV antenna, cable TV and satellite TV. No other entertainment
equipment in the world has such a vast library of entertainment programs
to support."
but, #10) states:
"Question: Can I use the 3D eyeglass to watch the TV for very long
time?"
"In order not to make your eyes feel fatique, don't use the 3D eyeglass
for more than 2 hours. A normal feature film will run for 1.5 hours. Not
every scene is worthy to be watched by 3D. Only the part with a lot of
action is recommended to be watched with the 3D Eyeglass."
Hello!!! Anyone home? You're telling me EVERYTHING can be watched in
3D, but only for 1.5 hours? huh??? Not every scene is worthy to be
watched in 3D?? Wait a minute. You just said , ALL TV, ALL computer
games, ALL home video games, etc, etc....
