On my 21" monitor, your images come up around 3 1/8" wide with
about 1/4" gap between them. The closeup image looks good to
me when I'm about 24" from the screen. I can't get an exact
figure because I haven't got a clue how much chin your model has.
I'm assuming what I would consider an average sort of chin length.
If you shot this with a 50 mm (2") lens, and I view it fine
at 24", then this must be a 12X enlargement. Since 3 1/8"
divided by 24 mm is already a 3X enlargement, I would infer you
cropped off 3/4 of the original image to make the on-screen image.
If your model actually has a much longer chin, then I would agree
with your 36" figure and then say that you cropped off much more
of the original (5/6ths).
