Who did you figure out the enlargement factor of eight?
In my screen, the vertical size of the images is about 4".
Assuming that they were enlarged from 35 mm film (1" vertical)
then we have an enlargement of only 4 times. This gives a
viewing distance of 200 mm or about 8".
The separation of the infinity points in my screen is a
little over 3". I can still parallel view them but this is
about my limit. I feel better at 25" from the monitor.
What happens to the ortho-perpective calculations when I
cross-view?
I say "goodbye Ortho" when it comes to computer stereo!
