For what it's worth...

I don't mean to generalize my experience, but I find that Boris's site
loads to my screen in several seconds for each full page, AND I have no 
problem at all free-viewing the parallel-version's and in fact I enjoy it
very much. 

My screen is a large'ish one, it's my Sun Workstation monitor which is
something like 21" or the like.  And my eyes are about a foot from
the screen.

P.S. - And generally, I prefer freeview over cross-viewing, even 
       though I can do both successfully.
